day with gisborne intermediate

Today we spent a day with Gisborne Intermediate, the first thing we did was P.E. For P.E we played ultimate Frisbee, we were put into groups of Gisborne Intermediate and Matawai school so we could interact and make friends with other schools. The second thing we did was we had a challenge to make a plane out of paper, straws, blue tack and sellotape. Then we had a competition on who's plane flew the furthest. Then it was lunch time as we wondered out to the front field we spot a big shop day sherbet, candy floss, cake pops and loads more sugary delights. The whole day was a great experience thank you Gisborne intermediate for letting us into your school. I can't wait to see you all in week eight.   

Google Ninja Challenge

Today I worked on the Google Doc Ninja Challenge.
Today I earned the White and green belt.
I am aiming to get the red belt.
I found it hard to keep calm.
I found it easy to put things in URL.

Wellington Zoo poem Reaflection


We were learning about Wellington Zoo.
I found it easy to find animals to rhyme about.
I found it hard to make all the sentences rhyme.
I really enjoyed when it was done and the smile on people faces when they read it.
Next time I need to put more words that flow in together.

Netiquette

Reflection:
So for this learning we had to do Netiquette do's and Netiquette don'ts
 Netiquette means Internet etiquette.
We were learning what to not and what not to do on the internet.

I found it hard to find some moari words to put in my message.
I enjoyed making the template for the speech bumbles.
I found it easy to copy and paste my character onto my blog.
Next time I need to make my character in the middle bigger.

Collaborating Online

We were learning how to use websites to make videos.
I really enjoyed making the video and adding my own spark to it.
I found it hard to put my voice own without all the background sound.
It was easy to put the music onto the slides.
Next time I need to work more efficiently.


Sisomo is about getting sight, sound and motion into a digital learning object (DLO).

one knew who she was so i needed to make them know.
A thing that I could have done better is extend my paragraphs.
It was trickey putting the information in nice clean paragraphs.

For this piece of writing we watched  a video and wrote about it.
My goal in this piece of writing was to keep the same tense and to use a variety of words.
It didn't take me to long to write it because I had so much to say.
Next time I will try to extend my sentences.
Also keep the same tense.
The video was about a hawk stalking a squirrel
I found trickey adding detail for my reader to put a picture in their head but i managed to do so.

Inquiry

It was great learning about new people like Sendak.
If you have no clue who this man is he wrote and illustrated Where The Wild Things Are.
The first thing we had to do was research, we did loads of straight research.
Second thing is get it all of the information down on docs or paper.
Third thing put it on a poster.
Fourth thing was choose some pictures to make the presentation look great and then done.
We did it so we could find key information about some of our artists.
I really enjoyed doing this because  didn't know very much about Maurice Sendak but after I researched I knew that he wrote and illustrated 47 children books.  
He was born in 10th June 1928 and died May 8th 2012.
I found putting the Information down in the right tense  tricky.
I eventually worked out how to place them in the end.
I  put them in the  perfect tenses and it and I'm so happy with my finished creation.
If  I ever had to do this again I'll put more information down and make it more interesting for my readers.
Here's a question for you did you know who  Maurice Sendak was and what books he has illustrated? And did you know he wrote and illustrated Where The Wild Things Are?.

Profile

My name is Annabel. I’m 12 years old. I go to Matawai School. I'm a year 8.
I have four members in my family. I have a mum,dad and an older sister.
I also have two dogs Tui And Tip.

I enjoy writing, this is an area I am good at. I love writing poetry and really descriptive adrenalin writing. I have worked really hard to be better than before in my writing. I don’t enjoy math as much but I am working hard to achieve my math goals.

One of my goals is learn all my times tables. I love reading now, I didn’t used to until I found a book series that I liked and made sure I read it cover to cover.

My goals for this year are to be better than before in my learning and my sport. I love hockey and would love to be in the rep team for my age. I am looking forward to high school next year and hope to be able to continue my hockey when I am in Havelock North.
